Zebra developed the RW 420 Route Palette in response to specific requests from route accounting/direct store delivery and field sales/service customers. We used this input to create a new carrying/charging palette that provides several advantages over other pad/workboard products currently on the market.
The RW 420 Route Palette is an important tool for competing in DSD and other mobile workforce applications. Most customers are familiar with the concept of this design and many already have a preference for using it. Customers will need to be educated about the RW 420 Route Palette's productivity-enhancing and money-saving features like its simultaneous charging capability and easy device release. Customers asked us for a printer/computer carrying solution, and we're giving them all that they asked for—and more.
Charging Saves Money and Time
The RW 420 Route Palette is much more than a carrier. It simultaneously charges the printer and computer via a single source, and provides LEDs to indicate charge status and error conditions. Simultaneous charging means customers don't have to buy, carry and maintain separate chargers for their printers and computers. The user simply plugs the palette into an AC power adapter and docks it to our RW 420 Route Palette 4-Bay Power Station for settlement/dispatch center use, or securely mounts it in our RW 420 Route Palette Vehicle Cradle.
It Gives up Easily—and That's a Good Thing
The RW 420 Route Palette is not only designed to hold the RW 420 and a Motorola® mobile computer, but to easily let them go. The computer releases at the push of a button or by lifting a latch, and the printer is removed without the use of a tool, via simple screws. These features make it convenient for mobile workers to use the individual devices as they wish. Easy release also helps companies minimize their downtime and spare pools; if the computer or printer needs maintenance or repairs, its companion won't also be out of commission while the whole solution is being serviced.
Each RW 420 Route Palette comes with a solid handle and the ability to attach a shoulder strap to give users their choice of carrying options. Plus, the integrated feet allow it to stand upright while its user performs other tasks.
